This collection of eyewear was made for the sports and luxury enthusiast to wear in their activities and daily life. Precision in the details
When Oliver Peoples embarked on this collaboration, they wanted to make sure that it not only embodied his current lifestyle, but also embraced his life on and off the court up to this point. As precise as Roger’s shots were on the court these inspirational details considered performance, function, comfort, and style.
- The iconic “RF” logo is laser-engraved throughout the design – on the lens, custom hinges, and temple end cap, providing a discrete nod in recognition of the athlete.
- The “8” hardware or infinity symbol on the temple represents his birthday, 8/8/81, as well as his 8 Wimbledon wins.
- The custom octagonal metal detail that connects the temple to the temple tip, with the octagonal cap inspired by the end of his Wilson tennis racquet.
- The custom core wire resembling the cross section of the strings on a vintage racquet.
- The adjustable semi-matte rubber temple tips for overall fit and comfort.
Color palette of championships
The colors chosen for this collection are just as intentional as the other details that encompass the design, drawing inspiration from Federer’s life on the court. As one of the most distinguished male tennis players of grand slam tournaments, the team at Oliver Peoples was influenced by some of his personal favorite titles for their color palette. The collection features three main colors – rye grass from Wimbledon, ash blue from the U.S. Open and brick from the clay courts of the French Open hosted in the infamous complex at Roland Garros.
Performance lenses
The lenses offered within this collection are exceptional. Keeping in mind the wide range of purposes and activities that the collection is intended for. Color enhancement, polarized lenses, and mirrored lenses are all features offered throughout the collection. All lenses are mineral-plastic and offer a high-quality visual experience.
